Mary Catherine Cohen, 77, of Vestal, died Peacefully on Saturday after a long struggle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, Marvin; step- daughters, Lauren and Dina and grandson, Alex. Known as Cay from age one, she was born in Glens Falls, NY on August 2, 1941. She was the only child of Joseph and Catherine Quinn. Cay excelled at St. Mary’s School from grades one to twelve and then earned a B.S. degree in English from LeMoyne College. After graduation, she got her first job as a research assistant at what is now Binghamton University and fell in love with the area. After a brilliant career at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, rising to systems manager, she and Marvin moved to Vestal in 1994. Cay was very active with the women’s bowling association as well as being a member of the prestigious 600 club herself. She was also the computer wizard behind her husband’s seven books and many overheads needed for his Lyceum lectures. Her intelligence, warm and caring personality and winning smile have left many memories to be cherished. We can only hope that she received a well-deserved warm welcome from the cats that she cherished through the years, when she crossed that Rainbow Bridge on Saturday night. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Reverend Mark Kimpland of Endwell United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Vestal Park Cemetery, Vestal. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 10 am until Service time at 11 am.
