Ah, Peter, we were so young! Together at the Catholic Worker in NYC in early 1970s before you went off to the Peace Corps. My date to Senior prom at Seton Catholic H.S. In 1971. We were soulmates for a while, and then lost touch. Peter was a humble, compassionate soul, a saint for our time. He is now enthroned with Jesus and all the saints.

I have fond memories of Peter especially our college friendship. He was a kind and devoted man which he demonstrated by his life’s mission to serve others. I am sorry for his family but I am sure they know as I know that Peter has gone to his just reward in heaven.

I'm so sorry to hear of your passing my old dear friend from all the way back in the days of Christ the King 4th through 6th grade! I love you Peter! You will be missed by so many! I am writing to you because I know you can read this from the spirit and I want this last letter to you to make you laugh! We had so many laughs in our younger days! There are so many good memories from those early years of our lives and what wonderful friendships we had! I have laughingly fond memories of our playground hijinks. We were always looking for excitement during lunch recess along with our other two troublemakers.... Peter B and James M. Actually, I was the lead mischief maker! I remember when Jim was crowned King of our little world and we built a throne out of snow on the playground and I had you guys tie my hands behind my back with wet twine, a captive knight I was. Wet twine is nearly impossible to untie and when class resumed, I couldn't fold my hands to say the afternoon prayers because my hands were tied! Sister James Michael didn't look favorably on me that day for sure! ..... such a funny memory! I used to love our trips to in front of the school's office to celebrate the Advent season and sing O come O come Emmanuel.... such a precious, cherished memory. Peter, I will always remember you and promise that I will be praying for your everlasting soul! G-d Bless you, my dear sweet friend from another lifetime! Again, I love you Peter, you are a truly a blessed soul! May you find peace during your journey into heaven, your new eternal home with the Lord. Bless you Peter. Your friend, John
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

"I am an Afro-Optimist and I know that God is with us here: my motto is NEVER GIVE UP! I want to be used by our Good Lord until my days on earth are through. Maranatha! This is me, Peter Daino, Karonga, Malawi on 23rd November 2014." - These are his words in an Facebook post now eight years back! I still adore Peter for all his optimism, his joy and his commitment to everything he did and everyone! He loved people, he loved live - I met Peter the first time in Karonga, at late O.T. Mwenifumbos Safari Lodge - with a basket in his hand, and a hat on his head and a smile on his face - since then we were befriended. His advice to me: never sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff. Rest In Peace my dear friend and send greetings to O.T. and all Karonga friends who passed away to soon. Lot's of love to the Daino family in the US.

Peter, May you Rest In Peace. You are now in God’s hands. May Jesus wrap his arms around you and hold you, as will Mother Mary and the angels. Mom and Dad are probably hugging you right now. You are an amazing man, brother, and have helped so many people and dedicated yourself to others, so many people love you. I love you so very much. Love your sister Donna, Harry, and Ashley
