Rita Catherine Mydosh (Kaczmarek), 82 went to be with our Lord on January 29, 2013 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is predeceased by her parents John and Veronica (Lokuta) Kaczmarek, of Bayonne, NJ, and a brother John F. Kaczmarek, of Long Beach, CA. Rita is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Frank E. Mydosh of Apalachin, NY, her six children: Dr. Thomas F. Mydosh (Sue) Victor, NY; James E. Mydosh (Eileen) Derby, CT; Judith M. Mullen (Andrew) Mount Airy, MD; Frank J. Mydosh Owego, NY; Stephen J. Mydosh (Audrey) East Greenbush, NY; and Gregory P. Mydosh Apalachin, NY; as well as eleven grand children: Kevin, Emily, Christopher; Kayleigh, Jennifer; Kathleen, Deborah, Joseph, Michael; Rachel and Catherine. Rita was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ where she met her husband Frank in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church choir. She worked for The Prudential Insurance Company of America before starting a family and moving to Apalachin in 1966. She was first and foremost a mother to her children maintaining and providing a home for her family. Even with that she found time for many activities outside of the home, including volunteering to work at polling places during election times and supporting the varied sports and interests of her children, such as being a Cub Scout Den Mother. She worked many years for a marketing company and would be a familiar face at various grocery stores throughout the area promoting everything from apple sauce to zucchini. The Mydosh Family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Ideal Senior Nursing Center for the compassionate care our mother received with special thanks to the staff in Rose Court.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 2nd at 8:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 9 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday, February 1st from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s name may be sent to the Our Lady of Sorrows Building Fund, 157 Clark Street, Vestal, NY 13850.
